Relay For Life Perth goes online
On Saturday 2 May 2020, Relay For Life Perth will be hosting a live stream Candlelight Ceremony. Join us at 8pm on our Facebook page to take part in the first event of its kind in WA. Although Relay will be different this year, you will still have the opportunity to decorate your candle bag and submit photos for the remembrance slideshow. For more information visit our Facebook page or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you'd like to recreate more of the Relay spirit in your community, you can by coming together to Relay Your Way! The beauty is, you can do it your way, but in case you're stuck for ideas, here are some suggestions:
- Set a team challenge to see who can complete the most laps in one hour or 24 hours! Whether it's around the block or in your backyard, share your challenge by posting photos and videos with the hashtag #RelayYourWay.
- Spread hope by sharing your memories of past Relays with your team and loved ones.
- Get your Relay team and love ones together via live stream on Facetime, Instagram, Facebook or Zoom for a friendly competition.
Relay For Life Perth event cancelled
Given the high risk to public health currently posed by COVID-19, Cancer Council WA and the Relay For Life Perth Organising Committee have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Relay For Life Perth event.
The safety and wellbeing of our relayers, volunteers, survivors, carers and the wider WA community must come first. We are sure this decision is in the best interests of everyone involved.
We are still working out next steps and will provide updates if the event can be held at another time during the year, or when it is likely to be held in the future. Thank you to all our incredible Relayers for your continued support.
